Mount Moriah Baptist Church

5 couples met on July 18, 2000 to talk about starting a new church in the Powdersville area. The following Sunday, July 23, 2000, the church met for the first time at Wren Primary School. The morning attendance was 68. The evening attendance was 86.

On Wednesday, July 26, 2000 the congregation met in the sanctuary of the old Bethesda Methodist Church for the first time and continued to meet there until June 2010.

Mount Moriah called Rev. Johnny Touchet to be its pastor on September 7, 2003 and Rev. Jeff Jowers as Minister of Youth and Families in January of 2006.

In April 2006, the church purchased 7.67 acres of land on Hwy 81 next to Total Fitness Family Center. On June 20, 2010, the congregation met in its current building for the first time.
